Item consists of a colour illustration of a small green bird with a white head, perched on a branch with flowers. No caption. Figures have been cut out and pasted on sheet. Hand-coloured cut-and-paste bird and custard apple (etching) and leaves (lithograph?).
Current binomial(s): Psittacula finschii [modern name: Agapornis canus]
Other names: Grey-headed parakeet [Grey-headed lovebird]
Note on names: Name from Shaw (from whose image this picture is copied)
No flowers visible, despite caption, but there is a fruit. The bird is the Grey-headed parakeet, copied (or cut out) from Shaw's Naturalist's Miscellany, vol. 11, plate 425 (https://hdl.handle.net/2027/mdp.39015063449006?urlappend=%3Bseq=188%3Bownerid=13510798902434870-188). Shaw's plate was based on a specimen in the Leverian Museum. The bird is from Madagascar. The plant is the custard apple. Brown spots on the custard apple seem to be added.
