He describes the symptoms Mr. N.'s son displayed, his diagnosis of smallpox, and the doctors who cared for him. Published in Cushing, vol. I, p. 136. Letter to (Mrs. Barrett) Edith G. (née Greenough) Wendell from William Osler, 1351, St. Catherine Street, Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Cushing's manuscript notes regarding Edith Wendell and her first impressions of Osler when they met in Tadoussac in 1877 [see CUS417/73.5]. Includes letter from Osler to Wendell [née Greenough], in which he expresses his sympathy upon the death of her sister. He sends a small volume that will recall pleasant memories of Tadoussac.

Wish him success in his case. Mention that he sympathized with Osler at the Fixed Period time but thinks that Osler was paid back for his habit to "jollying". In Knopf's case, he does not feel that way. It harms him and also the Tuberculosis campaign. Civilities.
