These papers contain biographical materials, such as Stansfield's curriculum vitae and testimonials in application for a professorship at the Royal School of Mines (1908), press releases on his retirement, printed biographical sketches and lists of publications. Diplomas and patents for iron ore reduction document his scientific career. His own writings comprise a dinner speech to the McGill Mining and Metallurgy Society (1936), an essay entitled "A Quaker looks at war" (1941) and a biographical sketch of William Roberts-Austen. A covering letter from John Tait encloses the latter's essay on gardening (1935).

Noad's papers document his research, and to a lesser extent, his teaching of English and comparative literature. They comprise 1.5 m of binders containing notes, clippings, extracts, and bibliographies on literary topics, e.g. imaginary voyages, memoires, the gentleman in satire, "Ossian", the young Byron, Spanish literature. A few binders contain lecture notes for his courses. Unbound materials include research notes on Ugo Foscolo and 19th century Italian poetry, lecture notes for courses in 19th century English poetry, files of clippings on 19th and 20th century writers, and bibliography cards for Elizabethan through 18th century literature.

The Alice Johannsen fonds reflects her lifelong involvement in nature, museums, community and her fealty towards her father, Herman-Smith (Jackrabbit) Johannsen. It consists of three series; personal and family series, 1994 to 1991, the Redpath series, 1919-1971 and a professional activities series, 1919-1971.

The Allen Burnup Darbyson fonds includes 3 photocopies of sketchbooks of his G.C. Browne Travelling Scholarship, photocopies of biographical information and photocopies of postcards Darbyson sent/received as a student.

The major record of the McGill Chapter's early years is a register containing members' signatures, 1911-1969, and minutes from 1912 to 1932; a second minute book covers the period 1960-1969. Approximately two-thirds of the papers are secretary's files from 1961 to 1978 containing membership lists, correspondence concerning prospective members, circular letters announcing meetings, and correspondence with the headquarters of AOA. There are also receipts for initiation fees from 1954 to 1969.

The Althea Douglas fonds consists of her student papers, class notes, exams, her husband’s letters and newspaper clippings of Althea and her husband. Althea’s notebook with notes from Costume lectures, diagrams, clippings and a notebook mostly on courses given by Stephan Pater, director of the Department of English Dramatic Productions (1952-1958), programs of English Department of Drama (1945-1960), and J. Creighton Douglas’ class notes from English (1946-1947), engineering exams and notes (1952 and 1963) are part of the collection. Included are as well Cedric S. Douglas’ notebooks on history of education, chemistry, public health and psychology courses from the years 1912 to 1914, Phyllis Bridgette’s notes from Macdonald Teacher’s College from 1922 and Marjorie Bridgette’s nature study specimens from Normal School of Macdonald College from 1911 and 1912. Family descriptions with notes on the Douglas family and the family tree chart are in the collection. Non textual records consists of slides, photographs, Althea Douglas’ drawings of costumes, and photographs that Althea Douglas rescued from McGill Daily for the courses she gave in stage make-up.

The fonds reflects Gwen Buchanan's activities within and the activities of the Alumnae Society as demonstrated through scrapbooks of clippings, correspondence, programmes, lectures, certificates, and photographs.

The records of the Montréal branch comprise minutes of the Executive Committee, 1920-1956, reports from committees (e.g. nominating and programme committees) and study groups (e.g. on aging, the handicapped), annual reports, 1924-1947, Constitution and by-law, 1925-1941, correspondence with other social work groups, and some correspondence with individuals.

The fonds consists of American Women's Club of Montreal minute books, 1913-1988, and handbooks, 1913-1960.

Bruère's professional papers contain letters of reference from physicians and medical schools in Edinburgh and Paris, 1888-1894, as well as certificates of merit and attendance cards from the University of Edinburgh and the Faculté de Médecine de Paris, 1883-1887.
