The collection consists of reports, correspondence, borrowing agreements, and issues of the McGill University Medical Library News from December 1979 to December 1994. It also includes library guides; documents concerning off-site storage at the Currie Gym (1999, 2002, 2013); records of library opening hours from 1980 to 2000; and letters, emails, and a 13-page petition addressing low temperatures in the Health Sciences Library (1989–1991). Additional materials include reports and articles on air quality concerns in the Strathcona Anatomy and Dentistry Building following lawsuits filed by Dr. Mishkin and Dr. Aaron after their leukemia diagnoses (2002), as well as the Life Sciences Library Concept Brief (2008).

The collection further holds pamphlets such as Walking Tour of McGill University (1990) and Continuity & Change: 175 Years of the McGill University Health Sciences Library (1999); reprints of historical articles on the medical library McGill University, The Medical Library (C.F. Wylde, 1927), History of the Medical Library, McGill University (M. Bickley, 1954), The McGill Medical Librarians, 1829-1929, (M. Benjamin, 1962), The Osler Library of the History of Medicine (Dr. Bates, 1967); a June 26, 2013 issue of The Montreal Gazette featuring the article McGill’s Medical Library is Closing, Staff Say; and a copy of C. Lyons’s Consultations regarding the Future of the Life Sciences Library: Possible Effects on the Osler Library (May 10, 2013).

The fonds consists of a 4-page digest of the London X-Ray Survey, as well as a half-page report written by the Industrial & High School Chairman. Includes the following: Outline of general planning and procedure; roles and responsibilities of all eight members of the London X-Ray Survey Council; publicity; participation; benefit to community; and benefit to organization and members.

The fonds contains Dr. Jacques' journal of medical accounts receivable entered in an account book issued with blank pages and bound in half suede with green cloth boards. The account book was kept between November 1879 and January 1881. A title handwritten on a paper label on the cover reads "Journal pour 1879-1880-1881." The author's full name comes from within the journal (L. A. George Jacques, M. D.) and from Lovell's Montreal directory for 1881-1882 (Louis A. George Jacques, M. D.). Laid in at p. 207 is an ink blotter featuring pharmaceutical advertising for Glyco-Heroin (Smith).

Fonds consists of the personal and professional papers of Louis and Irene Kon including extensive correspondence between the Kon family. Included are materials relating to the founding of the Norman Bethune Foundation and Bethune memorials; the making of Ted Allan's movie, "Making of a Hero", including the conflict with Syd Gordon regarding creative differences; a manuscript draft and notes on Larry Stephenson's manuscript 'Two Petrals.'

Fonds contains Dr. M.H.F. Friedman's personal papers and files relating to Dr. Boris P. Babkin and also correspondence with the editor of Babkin's biography of I.P. Pavlov.

Fonds documents the Mallochs' activities related to their medical and literary work. The fonds contains notes, correpondence, commonplace books, account books, material related to publications, family memorabilia, scrapbooks, photographs, telegrams, postcards and certificates.

The fonds contains Margaret Gillett's source materials and drafts for her book Dear Grace, a Romance of History. The source materials include original letters from William C. Little to Grace Ritchie written between 1889-1893.

The fonds contains materials that Dr. M. Entin collected for his biography of Dr. Archibald. Mainly include articles relate to tuberculosis, pancreatitis, wound healing, history of surgery, and scientific writing. It also includes letters from Edward Archibald to Mrs. Archibald, letters to Archibald from William Osler and Sir Henry Gray, addenda of Archibald's world journey in 1936, and articles by Archibald.

Some draft chapters of the biography of Dr. Archibald and research data for 100th Anniversary of Royal Victoria Hospital can also be found in the fonds.

The collection contains private records and papers relating to the medical and teaching career of Maude Abbott. It consists in large part of correspondence, 1894-1920, including family correspondence with, among others, her sister Alice Abbott, 1904-1919, and her brother Rev. Harry M. Babin, 1916-1920. Also included are manuscripts and drafts of articles and addresses; case reports; post-mortem records; glass slides and drawings; exhibit panels largely pertaining to her research on congenital heart disease; programmes of medical meetings, 1902-1937; reprints and papers relating to the history of medicine in Montreal and Quebec, as well as to the history of McGill, 1829-1936. In addition, there are photographs, some poems, an autobiographical sketch and a printed copy of her Classified and Annotated Bibliography of Sir William Osler's Publications, 1939, with corrections and annotations by W. W. Francis. Fonds also includes a draft of Abbott's letter to the Dean of Faculty of Medicine, McGill University, regarding admission (1889).
