Their edition of Helmholtz's life had to be curtailed from the German to bring it into a single volume. All students and young doctors should read the lives of Pasteur and Helmholtz. Glad to see the notice of Wood's ophthalmic library in the report of the librarian of McGill. Mentions that his library will finally be housed in Montreal. Gives the two lines of his collection : books that are of historical importance in the evolution of medicine, and books that have interest through the character or work of their authors. Invitation. Letter to Casey Albert Wood from George H. Perley, 19, Victoria Street, London, Oxfordshire, England. Extract from letter. Perley laments the death of Osler. He remarks that no one in their generation was more human, helpful, or had made such a vast number of friends in every part of the world as Osler. Osler never fully recovered from the loss of his son. Perley attended Osler's funeral at Oxford. He writes that McGill University will greatly benefit from Osler's Library.
