These professional papers of R.A.C. Henry cover every phase of his career from 1911 to 1960. A significant percentage relates to the St. Lawrence Seaway, and covers the period 1920-1960; these files contain information on estimated costs, power and navigation development, canal systems, engineering problems, Canada-U.S. relations, Québec and Ontario hydro, the implications of the project for the Montréal area, and historical aspects. The remaining files likewise contain correspondence, reports, memoranda and notes. Topics covered include railways in Canada and Mexico, 1913-1932; canals, particularly Lachine, Welland, and Sault Ste Marie, 1913-1915; the Québec hydro-electric industry, 1922-1946; Defence Communications Ltd., ca 1949-1954; air transportation, 1944-1957; and various reports on general economic questions or the affairs of specific companies for which Henry was consultant.

The fonds contains business documents relating to the sale of the Montreal Gazette to Robert Abraham in 1843, letters written by Robert Abraham to several recipients, including his father and his brother, letters written to Robert Abraham by Thomas Carrick and John Gibson, copies of letters to family members, on subjects such as books, science, family history, and the local (Liverpool) government. There are also letters to the editor of the Pharmaceutical Journal on the subject of chloroform, and to editors of the Manchester Guardian and The Times newspapers, on subjects including decimal coinage and local cholera deaths. It also contains letters written or received by John Abraham and Thomas Abraham, newspaper clippings and offprints written by, or on the subject of, Robert Abraham, a cutting of Robert Abraham’s obituary, taken from the Montreal Transcript, letters from family and friends of Robert Abraham and documents and letters relating to a duel between Vane and MacDougall.

The fonds includes two McGill University hand-books, 1913-1914 and 1914-1915 with brief notes referring to his activities as a student; three booklets of notes taken in Embryology, [191?], Histology, 1914 and one [unspecified] booklet of notes, [191?]. A newspaper clipping from the Chronicle: “The Kaiser and the Lusitania: Torpedoed against his wishes,” August 13, 1917; inventory from the Imperial War Museum of “The Papers of Mrs. G. S. Prichard” (mother to Prichard) relating to the correspondence between Mrs. Prichard and survivors of the Lusitania in search for news of her son during the sinking; Royal Bank of Canada Pass Book from Ewing, Alberta with records of Prichard’s cheque book activities from 1912-1914; a letter detailing investments (on McGill letterhead) dated January 22, 1914, is included inside the Royal Bank Pass Book.

A small number of letters between Graham and E.B. Tiffany, an offical of Henry Birks and Co., discuss the occurrance of diamonds in Canada (1949). A record of Graham's work as a teacher in his field is a set of notes on the use of the petrographic microscope.

The collection includes family correspondence, 1835-1844 and testimonials to Lynch's character, 1839.

Diaries with gaps for the years 1868 to 1910. Also included are a diary of a trip to Scotland and England in 1862 and a scrapbook which covers the years 1863-1869 as well as a catalogue of Wicksteed's library.

The fonds consists of papers of the Rhodes family of Yorkshire and Quebec, approximately 1774-1975, and Percyval Tudor-Hart and family, approximately 1920-1970, including business and personal correspondence. Rhodes family, approximately 1850-1970, business and personal correspondence. Tudor-Hart family, approximately 1920-1950, Crimean war military papers, Col. Godfrey Rhodes, approximately 1850-1858, diaries and notebooks, Rhodes family, approximately 1774-1970, business and estate papers including accounts, receipts and inventories for Rhodes and Tudor-Hart properties, family history material for Rhodes family, including charts and pedigrees, drawings and sketches, mainly by Catherine and Percyval, approximately 1890-1920, and photographs and Rhodes family members and residences, Yorkshire and Quebec, approximately 1850-1968.

The D'Aigle papers fall into three series: diaries, correspondence and a scrapbook of photographs and memorabilia. The diaries (1912-1914, 1927, 1935-1952) are largely devoted to a day-by-day account of prospecting journeys. Correspondence with members of his family, partners, prospective financial backers and government mining bureaus covers the years 1900-1959. The scrapbook contains personal mementos, newsclippings about D'Aigle, photographs of his journeys, lists of supplies for prospecting trips, and maps, some drawn by D'Aigle himself.
